You can find absolute peace through walking by the water and watching fishes in the pond. It’s a tranquil spot with sitting areas that offer the finest location for spending some peaceful quality time.

  • Grapevine Museums & Galleries

It’s almost 2 miles away from the south end of the lake. But you’ll not regret visiting it no matter what. The place is complex with art exhibits and a couple of museums. So, you will get the chance to get to know different aspects of the city’s history & culture altogether.

Water parks are the best bet for boaters traveling with their families. These parks offer some fun stuff for a fair price, occupying your leisure time in the most idyllic way. Dove Waterpark at 1509 Hood Ln, for instance, is a well-liked spot.

That’s because the have a pool for minor kids and teen-agers. Plus, you can always find several slides, float islands, and shallow play area for children of all ages.

Another well-know and the popular water-fun park are Paradise Springs Aquatic at 1501 Gaylord Trail. There are some splash pads, slides, and zip lines available for kids. Moreover, they have a big pool to add up to the fun and allow everybody to enjoy splashing some water. However, the better-yet is that there are a bar and grill for parents/adults waiting for their kids on the poolside.

Cross Timber Winery at 805 N Main St, is our first suggestion. The rustic atmosphere and not-fancy-at-all prices make it a great stop for boaters.

The BBQ is a must-try and the wine, of course, is worthy of a test. However, they are a wedding venue; so, you can also plan the best day of your life here—again, for a fair price.

Within walking distance to Cross Timber, there is the Messina Hof Grapevine Winery. It’s an old building with very interesting interior design, reminding you of the good old days. There’s room to stroll around and a variety of seating arrangements and areas.

Moreover, having multiple bars and good staff that knows the products has made them a public choice. So, if you’re tired of boating on Grapevine Lake, this is the place to relax!

Umbra Winery, on the other hand, is less than a mile away from the south end of the lake, ready to serve all the boaters 12-11 P.M. The owner describes this place as a “lively tasting room offering house-label & imported wines & tapas in a chic atmosphere.” But they also have dozens of wines, all great quality and 4-time yearly shipments for wine club members.

The lake comes right up to the sandstone shoreline. You can watch the sunset across the lake here or see the fireworks for the 4th of July and during the summer when the Gaylord sets them off on Friday nights.

Breakfast tacos—that are available all day long—are a must-try. But you will also fall in love with their brisket as it’s always succulent and never dry. In addition to all this, you can also order a smoked chicken or turkey along with some grilled sausages as a side dish!

  • Tolbert’s Restaurant & Chili Parlor

You can feel the free-spirited Texan taste in their dishes as they are historic chili specialists. This place is all about Southwestern fare, steaks & live music in casual environs. You must head to 423 S Main St, sometime between 11 A.M. to 11 P.M. to grab a nice meal.

The original red chili and Dublin pot roast with mashed potatoes are some of the most favorite foods here. So, give them a try no matter what.
